What to Include

The more detail you provide, the better we can point you toward the right recovery path:

  • What happened — the type of scam and how contact was made
  • Timeline — when it started and how long it continued
  • Financial details — amounts involved, payment methods, transaction IDs
  • Scammer details — usernames, phone numbers, wallet addresses, profile links
  • Platforms involved — where it happened (messaging app, dating site, social media, phone)

If You’re Currently Being Targeted

Do these steps now, in order:

  1. Stop all communication — don’t confront, don’t threaten to report, just stop
  2. Don’t send more money — even if they promise it will “fix” the situation
  3. Document everything — screenshots, transaction records, usernames
  4. Report immediately — to the FTC, FBI IC3, and your bank
  5. Start your recovery plan — begin with our I Was Scammed by AI guide

Note: For your own safety and speed, please report active scams directly to the authorities above. We are not a law enforcement body or financial institution, but we’ll do everything we can to point you to the right help.
